The effect of leveling auxiliaries on powder coatings
Glance over:- Release date:2023-11-06 11:43:05【Big In Small

In the powder coating formula, for the plain grain with light and high light (including metal flash and metal luster) powder coating, it is necessary to add leveling agent, brightener and degasifier, especially the leveling agent is impossible to lack of additives. Generally, powder coatings must be melted and flattened to form films at higher temperatures. Because the melt viscosity of powder coating is relatively high, the surface tension is large and uneven, so it is easy to form a film with many shrinkage holes during film formation.

The function of the leveling agent is to form an extremely thin single molecular layer on the surface of the powder coating to provide uniform and low surface tension, so that the coating is easy to evenly level; At the same time, there is good wettability between the coating and the coated workpiece, so as to overcome the shortcomings of the coating film such as small holes and shrinkage holes formed by the uneven local surface tension on the surface of the coating. Leveling agents for powder coatings are mainly homopolymers and copolymers of acrylates, as well as agricultural production system silicon modified homopolymers and copolymers of acrylates. Because these polymers are viscous liquids, in order to disperse easily in the formula, they are often dispersed on the carrier such as epoxy resin, polyester resin, fumed silica, and made into solid particles or powder state
